After a packet of Hobnobs, to get rid of my hangover this morning I decided to spend the entire day cooking.  Cooking in bulk for the freezer.  The cheapest way to do it in Spain.  I made a lasagne this morning; got twenty portions out of it.  At the moment, I'm just roasting off 5kg of potatoes also for the freezer.  I tend to buy things when they are on offer and preserve most of it, for a later date.

Not sure Jamie was too keen on the lasagne.  Apparently the portion was too big, but then any size meal is too large, when you are Jamie.

To be honest, I have had one of those nice relaxing Saturday's. Cooking does help me to unwind, it's something I enjoy and it is certainly something, I am doing more of, since moving to Spain!

I have started to watch the box set of 'Are You Being Served' again.  It always reminds me of happy times, back home, with family. It is strange, how certain television programmes, can transport one back decades; to an amusing recollection, an enjoyable occasion or special place in one's heart.  I have fond memories of the seventies and eighties, this comedy takes me back there, to an altogether, more innocent time!

    England 3 - Scotland 0

Yesterday I went to  The Pub, in Masa Square, to watch the football. Now as a rule I don't have anything to do with the game; I can't stand it, but Dawn is Scottish and she wanted me to go and watch it with her, Paul and Nigel, so we all went down, for a few beers and a bit of Nationalism!

I have absolutely no idea about football, or even who's who, but with bright pink strip on, you could spot Scotland a mile off.  There was me, cheering at the most inopportune moment, in the wrong colours, sat next to big butch football supporters, on a Friday night.  A little bit of Heaven and a little bit of hell rolled into one!

I had a great night at 'The Pub', which  finally ended in traditional British style, an indian, from the curry house across the square; I can't wait for the next match.  I have tried many new things here in Spain, football being one.  Variety is indeed the spice of life and I intend to keep on trying new and wonderful experiences!

Got back from the shops and it was time to clean Casa Gay Caprice. I dragged our Jamie out of bed, got him to finally clean his room, stripped his bed and finished sweeping and mopping the house.  At least Jamie has finally learned to sweep the floor, another thing to add to his list of achievements.  I also discovered storage under my bed. I've only been here for nearly a year and never knew it was there.  Not sure Darrell was very happy about it.  Extra space needs to be filled after all! Housework done, washing done, dinner cooked, now time for a couple of pints with friends and watch the football......Now That's a new one for me!

Popped into The GA Centre today.  Had to get some shopping; rather the stuff I forgot to get on Monday.  Another lovely day in Gran Alacant, with temperatures in the mid twenties!
