I had my interview yesterday, for the position of Teacher at an English school in Elche. It is a small private school, which caters for children aged between three and nine years old. I don't mind telling you how nervous I was. I always get anxious before important occasions, like interviews anyway, but I really wanted this job, so I was as agitated and apprehensive, as I'd ever been.
Julie, who had recommended me, took me in with her to the school and after a brief chat with the Head, I sat in and participated in two classes, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The children were fantastic; so well behaved compared to those in Britain.
The school requires English speakers only, as the methods used to teach the pupils require it. The Spanish can of course teach the kids English, but they can never quite get the pronunciation right.
The evening went well and I was offered the job, with a Spanish contract, which is like gold dust, social security and a very good rate of pay. I couldn't be happier and very thankful to Julie and all those who had given their support, whilst I have been looking for work, no easy task in Spain!
I start on October 19th and will be taking classes in two schools, teaching two different styles. I can't wait, still very nervous, but looking forward to this great opportunity.
I have been able to achieve so much in Spain, more than I ever thought was possible. My self confidence has gone up in leaps and bounds. I have proven much to myself, about self worth and attainment and I know I have shocked many of those, back in The UK, not that it was the prime reason for achieving what I have of course.
Anyone can change their life. Spain is about a new start, but it is also about showing that we are better than those, who were responsible for us having to leave Britain. I am finally doing what I always wanted to do!

Darts
Got back from school at 8.30pm, with darts starting at 9pm yesterday. I decided to sit the first game out, as I was so knackered from all the dancing at work with the children; the atmosphere at Zest was great. It was fantastic to see Dawn turn up as well, I haven't seen her in a while, so we had a good few drinks to say the least. I arranged to meet her on Sunday.
Now my day was going perfectly until the person who robbed us blind, spread rumours around about us and broke into my house turned up. I don't mind telling you, I saw red. For the first time, since she left my house, I blew my stack with her in the pub, in front of everyone. For once, I actually grew a pair and told her exactly what I thought about her. I haven't repeated this before, but I will now. This person made up rumours about myself, my husband and Jamie. She also owes me a substantial amount of money, after we invited her to stay, when she was down on her luck in The UK. Rather than pay her rent, she decided to drink and get wasted every night. We are not the only ones this has happened to, she has done the same things to other people, and has very few friends, if any here. She really needs to go home and sort her life out. Gran Alacant is a small place and people do not take kindly to what she has done, nor should they!
Apart from that little incident with a nasty piece of work, I had a bloody good day yesterday. Telling her how I felt, was long overdue. I am glad I finally did it!Zesty Breakfast
Got up this morning with a banging headache and those cringey thoughts from the night before. Forced myself up and popped back down to Zest for breakfast, which was needed like never before. I was hoping I wasn't in too much trouble, after the altercation last night, but everyone was fine and understood totally; after all everyone there today, had also been at the end of her behaviour. A great breakfast as usual, thanks guys!
Moral
There is a moral at the end of yesterday and for me it is a very big one:
Never open your heart and your home to anyone who you don't know; The ones who you least think of as friends, are; just be yourself and you will succeed!
Peace and love!

I have had such an amazing day today. Darts practice, this morning, interviewing for The GA Advertiser afterwards, a lovely dinner at Zest, around some wonderful friends and a great motivational chat with Aunty Pam!
A big thank you to Julie for this evening for arranging an interview at a local school, teaching English. I have wanted to teach kids for a long time. When I worked for Action for Children, although short, it was one of the best experiences of my life. All children deserve a chance in life, they all have so much to give. I am happy beyond belief; This could be a great start for my new life here in Spain.
In other news, I did pretty good at darts practice today; I still lost, but really happy to now be constantly hitting the board!
After the time myself and Darrell have had, we need some good luck, wish me luck y'all!

Spanish Fingers
Jamie informed me, he was working early today, so with little time to prepare, I had to lower my standards and cook Fish Fingers and Chips; only in the freezer for emergencies. Luckily I had brought a tin of beans earlier. though at 2€ a pop, they aren't cheap!
For me, this was a dinner from hell. I don't think Jamie minded too much however. The Spanish, just can't do chips like the British, they were bloody awful. I haven't actually cooked this type of food, since Darrell left and sharn't again. Mothers home cooking, again tomorrow, thank God!
