    Sunset Bar!

Today, I have the hangover from hell.  I have spent most of the day in bed, after going out with the 'No Wives Club' yesterday. We started off at the Sunset Bar, in Carabassi. It has just been taken over and recently reopened. The outside looks fantastic; a lot of hard work has been put in to the new decor; it looks great!  It was a bit of a shock to see my old work colleague, Laura working there. I used to work with her at Dunbar's, last year. It was great to catch up; she's a lovely girl!

After getting something to eat, we left for some more drinks, at The Pub, in Masa Square. It was Karaoke night and there were some great performances, especially by our very own Katie. Everyone had a fantastic night, especially Michele, who looked like she thoroughly enjoyed herself; beaming smiling face and lots of dancing.

Another happy night, with no drama, just a group of friends spending time together.  All of these guys, make my life in Spain, a lot easier to cope with, especially when Darrell is away; another month to go and he should be back home in Gran Alacant!

    Sunday!

It was nice to spend time with those members of the 'No Wives Club', who were currently in Spain, last night.  Truthfully, I don't get out an awful lot these days, as finances remain extremely tight.  It is important to spend quality time with other people, especially during challenging days, so yesterday I relented and had a wonderful evening, at The Pub in Masa Square!
I just wanted to say a few words about friendships.

When living abroad, in a community such as the one I live in, it is important to forge new friendships. With out 'The No Wives Club' and other friends I have had the pleasure of meeting, life here would have been more difficult than it is already.

When Darrell left, it was more important than ever to bond with others, akin to family. I have rarely met such a great, generous bunch of characters in my lifetime; hold on to the precious times spent together!

    Christmas Day!

It was just myself for Christmas dinner this year.  Jamie was supposed to be there at some point, but was recovering from a large bout of 'hangover.'  That actually suited me fine and I was glad of the quiet.

In the evening I popped to Zest with Katie, Andy and their lovely family. It was nice sat in the square, quiet, without hoards of people, relaxing with a few pints on Christmas Day.  Michael and Tim had arranged a few party games and made some food for the occasion.  As usual, marvellous hosts.

After a turkey sandwich, we met Paul, Michele and Nia, their daughter, who had flown in from Canada, to spend time with Mum and Dad.  She was a lovely young lady; it was a pleasure to meet her.  It's good to see the 'No Wives Club', with their respective spouses in attendance.  Just me now, waiting for Darrell to return home, on 28 February 2017!

We left Zest and continued to celebrate Christmas Day at 'The Pub', Masa Square, which was packed and had a live singer to boot.  The atmospere down there was great.  There were a lot of drunken expats, enjoying a rather warm Christmas evening, including ourselves.

Happy Christmas to the 'No Wives Club', wherever you are!

    No Wives Club + 2

Had a fantastic afternoon at Big Al's in Masa Square, welcoming home Pete, Dawns husband.  'No Wives Club' + 2; Andy will be home next week, so yet again, it will be me, in Spain on my todd.  I don't mind telling you, how much I have been feeling down over the last few days, so it is always great to meet these guys for a drink.  They always lift my spirits.

What wonderful hosts Alison and Billy are, looking after Lexi, nothing was too much.  It was nice to sit down, have a chat, see Pete again after his month away and just enjoy a few hours away from the drudgery of life.

Thanks 'No Wives Club', see you again real soon!
