Darrell has been up since 6am this morning, packing his case for Australia. Everything is now done. Andy will be taking us to Alicante Airport at 9am and his flight to London City Airport leaves at 11am. After spending the day in London, Darrel will board a new flight, at Heathrow, flying British Airways to Singapore.  The last leg of his flight will see him depart the Far East  for Sydney, finally flying Qantas, across Australia to Perth.

Tonight we are cooking dinner for Andy and Katie, as a thank you for all their help over the last four months or so, then it's an early night, and an early start tomorrow!

    Resignations!

Yesterday I resigned from work, today Darrell has resigned and we are both getting ready for his move to Australia.  Darrel has not got on so well in Spain, as myself and for him, he now needs to begin the move, for us both to Australia.  Ultimately Perth or some other part of Australia will be our 'forever home'.  I am settled enough to remain in Spain while our life plan is put into practice.

Darrell has said this morning, how much he will miss working for the Airport here as well as the voluntary element, working for a dog charity.  The wages were the biggest problem in Spain, they are painfully low, compared to The UK.

I met Darrell's employers and they are truly amazing people.  They work hard, in order to fund their  charity, looking after abandoned dogs.  There are wonderful people in Spain, doing their best under difficult circumstances.

    Peace and love!

    Countdown!

In a few weeks, Darrell will be returning to his home country of Australia, for six months.  Darrell will be caring for his Mother and also working to fund our home in Spain.  We will be living apart, for the first time in our 21 years together.  After such a long time, we are well able to sustain a long distant relationship, for part of each year.

The time is not yet right for me to return to Perth.  The visa situation, is intolerable. Even after 21 years, the Australian Government refuse to accept our Marriage, and there would be a long process of applications, over many years.  The costs involved would run into thousands of dollars, which we would be better off saving for our future.

Getting a decent job in Spain is difficult.  I want to eventually teach children, but will have to pay for a qualification first.  Darrell will be able to earn far more in a week, then quite simply someone can earn in a month here.  In reality, him spending time between Australia and Spain, is a no brainer, especially at the moment, with his Mother being ill.  Eventually we will end up in one country or the other, but for now, this is the best option, for all of us.

I will up date this Australian section of my blog, as and when I speak to Darrell.  Thank you for your continued support.  Keep reading!
