So far it has been a busy September; last night we had another fantastic evening at LoungeD. Plaza Mayor was busy, as we welcomed friends and familiar faces, old and new. I have been surprised to see the change in vibe, from August to September, having not worked a full season yet in Spain. September is turning into a busy month for us and we are delighted to welcome you all through the doors. If you haven't paid us a visit yet, pop in and say hi!

Another busy night at LoungeD yesterday, with lots of familiar faces popping in for a drink or two. I have met many new people since working in Masa Squares newest bar; it feels wonderful to be a part of this welcoming community, on Calle Holanda. Chloe GrayIt was a final farewell, from myself and all of us at LoungeD, to Chloe, (Second from left) who is leaving her home in Gran Alacant, after a summer season of work here in Spain. She is traveling to Gran Canaria to begin working as part of her University course in the UK. I have personally known Chloe, since moving to GA, nearly two years ago. She is a great friend and I will be sad to see her go. I know I speak for all of us, when I wish her all the luck in the World, for her new endeavours; I can't wait to see her next year, when she once again returns to Gran Alacant! Nia StokesAs well as saying goodbye to Chloe, we also gave a warm welcome to Paul Stokes daughter Nia, who arrived with her partner Caylee from Canada. It was fantastic to see Nia again; I know Paul and Michele were thrilled to bits! Paul and Michele had arranged a surprise visit from two of Nia's friends, who were sat quietly hiding at LoungeD on her arrival. There were lots of emotions as one would expect. I would like to extend my warmest wishes to all of you, during your stay in Gran Alacant. We will see you very soon! Richard & Pat clayResident artist Richard Clay and wife Pat also joined us last night, for another evening of chat and laughter. These two are great characters and always a pleasure to talk with. Richard appeared in this months GA Advertiser, together with an article about a painting, he composed and gifted to local bar 'Dick Turpin' in Sierra Mar. The painting depicts legendary highwayman Dick Turpin on his horse Black Bess. Richard has always enjoyed paining, which helps him to relax and unwind. I was lucky enough to be invited to his home recently, where I also had the privilege of seeing some of his work. Richard has a wonderful talent, always happy to speak about his interest, always a joy to see at LoungeD! Familiar Faces

Some more Familiar Faces at LoungeD. We had another busy night last night, as customers return night after night, which is heartwarming; we must be doing something right. I am enjoying my time, behind the bar, meeting some wonderful characters, from all over the World. Last night we had guests from Belgium, Germany the United States, UK and of course Spain. I remember writing an article recently, discussing the benefits of living in Gran Alacant, when I came across some interesting statistics: there are over one hundred nationalities living in this community, a lot more than one would expect to find, in similar sized towns across Europe. If you haven't popped your head around the door and said hi yet, we would love to see you.

I had a fantastic day at LoungeD yesterday, not that I haven't on every other day, but this Wednesday I felt on top form. We had some fantastic customers through the door; stories to tell and memories to make. The weather was also on the turn; cooler air was sweeping in along the coast. For the first time in months, we actually had some rain in Gran Alacant and what a welcome break it was; long overdue. As I write this entry today, sat on the sofa, I am not sweating uncontrollably, uncomfortably; It is cooler and much more bearable; a chilly 24 degrees!

It's been one week since LoungeD opened its doors and what a week it has been. It has been wonderful, seeing so many locals and tourists visiting Masa Squares newest bar.
LoungeD offers a chilled, relaxing environment in which to enjoy a glass of wine, beer or a soft drink. It's great to see regular customers, returning again and again; all of us at LoungeD thank you for your continued support.
Lou and Ged, at LoungeD and the Gran Alacant Advertiser have produced this short video clip, to show our potential customers, just what we have to offer. The compliments and positive feedback so far, is beyond what any of us expected. It has made for an uplifting, constructive and supportive first week of trading.
A few photographs taken for our popular'Familiar Faces' album on our LoungeD facebook page. I will be giving our 'Patron of the year' a special present, this Christmas, the person or couple who have visited LoungeD the most. So far Paul and Michele Stokes, from Micheles Gift and Pauls Hire Shop are in first place!
Thanks again to everyone who has taken the opportunity to visit LoungeD!

It's been a busy few days at LoungeD. The bar has been open for nearly a week now and we have all had a fantastic time welcoming customers to Masa Squares newest bar. As well as a lot of familiar faces, from in and around Gran Alacant, we have also been lucky enough, to serve many new people; at least new to me; on holiday, enjoying the wonderful weather we are seeing at the moment.
Talking and chatting with our patrons is a delight. You learn so much from Expats and tourists alike. Currently, the unusually hot summer, is top of everyone's 'chatter' list. I am lucky enough to have acclimatised to the Spanish seasons, so am not finding working in this intense heat, as difficult as I otherwise would. Next week is going to be even hotter; Spain and southern Europe are expecting a heatwave. An ice cold beer in the Spanish sun, perfect for coping with the inclement weather!
See you at LoungeD soon!

Day two at LoungeD and things are going well. If I thought day one was busy, then day two was even busier; we had a great night. It's always good to see friends coming down for a drink; lots of familiar faces yesterday.
It's been a while since I worked behind a bar, but I can safely say, I am enjoying every minute of it. The customers have been fantastic, a joy to serve and very appreciative of what we wanted to achieve at LoungeD; giving your patrons what they want, is a must in this business.
Thanks again to everyone who came yesterday, we hope you enjoyed yourself; oh and don't worry, I wont be clogging up your facebook wall with a running commentary, on a daily basis; you can breath a sigh of relief!
