A big thank you to everyone who came to the Monday night quiz at LoungeD last night; we were packed to the rafters. The quiz has grown from strength to strength, week after week; we are delighted with the response of our customers. All of us look forward to seeing you again next Monday from 8pm!
Local author Steve Dale's first book, The Planet Mirth; Adventures One, is now on sale at LoungeD, situated in Plaza Mayor, on Calle Holanda. Steve has very kindly supplied us with some copies at the bar, so customers can buy one of these fantastic children's stories, just in time for Christmas. Steve has signed some of the books; should you wish to request a special dedication, please message me, Luke Martin-Jones, using the contact form below and I will pass your requirements on to Steve. You can purchase a copy for 12'00€ or 11.00 GBP! Synopsis Here are five magical stories (for 5 to 8 year olds) that will spark your child's imagination. Mia travels to the planet Mirth in her dreams and encounters the gnomes that live there and an array of strange-looking creatures. In the first story, she goes on safari, riding a rhinhorseros that is half horse and half rhino. She discovers the magical forest where toys grow on trees. In the second story, it's Jerome the gnome’s burpday party, which is celebrated on the anniversary of his first burp. The third story is the Mirth games where she runs in a backwards race and wins a gold medal. In the fourth story, Halloween, she rides a broomstick to the witch tree forest, where sweets grow on trees. The last story is the Mirthmas dinner where she has a magic dish. Whatever food she wishes for just appears in the dish. The gnomes have a sprout eating competition with a comical finale Author Steven Dale has been happily married for 38 years. He has two daughters and three granddaughters. He currently lives in Alicante, Spain where he, until recently, worked as a vocal entertainer. He’s now retired from singing and concentrates all his efforts on writing. The Planet Mirth Adventures One is his first children’s book.
'When it rains, it certainly rains!'Gran Alacant finally had a taste of winter yesterday. The heavens opened and the rain came down by the bucket load. Earlier in the day LoungeD paid host to the Monte Mar bowls and Social club and their international counterparts. We opened our doors at 9.30am, serving tea and coffee to all those who took park and would like to congratulate our home team for their success. Familiar Faces
I had a fantastic day at LoungeD yesterday, not that I haven't on every other day, but this Wednesday I felt on top form. We had some fantastic customers through the door; stories to tell and memories to make. The weather was also on the turn; cooler air was sweeping in along the coast. For the first time in months, we actually had some rain in Gran Alacant and what a welcome break it was; long overdue. As I write this entry today, sat on the sofa, I am not sweating uncontrollably, uncomfortably; It is cooler and much more bearable; a chilly 24 degrees! FamiliaR faces
It's been one week since LoungeD opened its doors and what a week it has been. It has been wonderful, seeing so many locals and tourists visiting Masa Squares newest bar. Lou and Ged, at LoungeD and the Gran Alacant Advertiser have produced this short video clip, to show our potential customers, just what we have to offer. The compliments and positive feedback so far, is beyond what any of us expected. It has made for an uplifting, constructive and supportive first week of trading. A few photographs taken for our popular'Familiar Faces' album on our LoungeD facebook page. I will be giving our 'Patron of the year' a special present, this Christmas, the person or couple who have visited LoungeD the most. So far Paul and Michele Stokes, from Micheles Gift and Pauls Hire Shop are in first place!
29 July 201730 July 201731 July 2017It's been a busy few days at LoungeD. The bar has been open for nearly a week now and we have all had a fantastic time welcoming customers to Masa Squares newest bar. As well as a lot of familiar faces, from in and around Gran Alacant, we have also been lucky enough, to serve many new people; at least new to me; on holiday, enjoying the wonderful weather we are seeing at the moment.
Day two at LoungeD and things are going well. If I thought day one was busy, then day two was even busier; we had a great night. It's always good to see friends coming down for a drink; lots of familiar faces yesterday.
