We've just got back from dropping Mollie and Wildling off at Clínica Veterinaria Mundo Animal - Gran Alacant. Today they are both being neutered; we are unsure of their exact age, but they are the right size to undergo the operation.

Cats are usually neutered at around four to six months old, or when they reach a weight of about two pounds. We got the two of them at the beginning of August, after they were abandoned in my employers garden; they were probably about eight weeks old at the time. There is a problem with stray cats in Spain, certainly more than there is in the UK, which is why it is important to get kittens desexed as soon as possible. Gran Alacant can not afford to have anymore unwanted kittens, so if you have an unneutered cat, please get them sterilised.

We had to pay 210'00€ to get both Mollie and Wildling desexed; 130.00€ for Mollie and 80'00€ for Wildling. I believe this is the standard rate here in Spain. The vets in the GA Centre were accommodating and willing to help, speaking perfect English, which is always a bonus and came highly recommended; We pick them both up at 6pm!
