I've had a busy old time today. A friend, Justin is flying over from Britain, to spend a week with us here in Spain. As I haven't done too much housework recently, preoccupied with writing and other matters, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to get 'mi casa' sorted. In truth, I actually haven't stopped for the last few days, throwing out rubbish, getting the spare room sorted and cleaning to within an inch of my life; made all the worse, by the intense Spanish heat, hitting 35 degrees and over!

I haven't seen Justin for about two years and am glad he is coming to visit. We have always had a love/hate relationship, probably due to our similarities; in recent times, more love than hate, I am happy to say!

Justin has always kept in contact with both myself and Darrell, offering support when needed and giving advice when necessary. That is the mark of true friendship and I look forward to seeing him.

Justin is arriving at the ideal time. If everything goes to plan, we should be more or less ready to open the new bar, the following week. There are busy times ahead, so it will be good to see an old friend before starting work.

More cleaning tomorrow, an article to finish, then picking up Justin from the airport on Saturday. We are very lucky to still be in contact with friends from the UK. Facebook has made our transition to Spanish life, easier than it could have been. I have read much about the dangers of social media, but used in the right way, it is a marvelous tool, to stay in contact with those, we would otherwise, have lost touch with. Life is hard enough, without losing valuable friendships. I am glad to have the people in our life, we do; they make life that much better.
