Vets

It was D Day for Precious today.  We had to take her to the vets to have her operation. Now I say operation, but really she had to have her teeth extracted.  Katie and myself took her in this morning at 10am, to our local vets, who are fantastic.  Darrell had phoned her and Andy at 2am, to remind her about something to do with a cat basket and woke them both up, so she was tired. Darrell you have to remember you are on Australian time dear.  We left Precious with the vet to return at 1pm, when she would be ready to go home!

Quicksave

Katie and myself popped to Quicksave after the vets, which is just over the road. Quicksave is great, selling all those British essentials, you can't get anywhere else. Fry Bentos Pies, Marmite, Bisto, that type of stuff.  I have to admit, I don't actually go in there, as I rarely walk up to that end of Gran Alacant.

I did however find some sage.  Now I have been looking for this for ages, without any joy, and low and behold, they had it in Quicksave, or ASDA/TESCO as Jamie likes to call it.  They will even post your mail to The UK, taking letters and parcels back to Britain and posting them there.  Unlike the Spanish postal system, these letters actually reach their destination as well.

After Quicksave, we went to the Chinese shop, so I could buy a selfie stick.  Like Quicksave, the Chinese shops are great, selling everything you never knew you needed and at a cheap price too.  The selfie stick was a bargain 6.50€ and it isn't broken yet, even with Lexi, Andy and Katie's daughter using it!

Selfiestick

Back to the Stewardsons Casa and a few photographs with the selfiestick, well everyone knows what I am like for taking photographs.  I think Lexi used it more than me and I look forward to seeing all the photographs on facebook later.  I managed to get a picture with Jamie, who as per usual was still in bed when I rushed back home for a quick sandwich, before going to pick Precious up!

Groggy Cat

We picked Precious up at 1pm.  She was totally out of it.  The vet managed to save half her teeth and removed the other half, they were just too bad.  He gave her remaining teeth a good clean and within a few days she should be as right as rain.  She isn't happy with me, after not eating food for 24 hours, but at least the operation is out of the way now, and all that for 100€.  When Lily had a similar operation done in The UK, we were handed a bill, approaching 400 pounds.  Most things are cheaper in Spain, vet bills are just one of them!

Alcampo

This afternoon I popped out with Andy and Katie tom Alcampo, just to the north of Alicante.  I wanted to see how much freezers were.  Having more freezer space would be fantastic and would also allow me to shop a lot cheaper.  At 175€, the prices weren't too bad either.

Just had a quick siesta.  Jamie has left for work and I am going to get Casa Gay Caprice tidy, for his friends visit, from the UK on Saturday.  Washing, cleaning and hoovering, then I can finally relax! Oh and Precious managed to get out, while I was sleeping, I have spent an hour chasing her up and down the bloody ravine!

Happy Thursday Y'all!
