The Worst Weather Can Throw!
Casa Gay Caprice
So far we have had several days of storms, howling winds and torrential rain, up and down the coast; from Benidorm in the north, as far as Malaga and Gibralta in the South. There are floods everywhere, with Benidorm being particularly badly hit, as the videos below show. Easy Horse Care, the charity I used to work for are also suffering severe damage.
Last night the weather here in Gran Alacant was terrible; it was difficult to sleep. The winds over the ravene, my casa is perched on, were the worst I have ever experienced in my life, both here and in the UK. The noise from the roof terrace was deafening.
When I got up this morning, there had been no let up in the storms hitting coastal regions of Spain. Water was coming in my front door and windows were leaking. By all accounts we have at least one more day of this extraordinary weather to go. In a while I shall be shutting down everything for another unpredictable night. I was told recently, that at times like this, it is important to keep shutters firmly shut on your houses to prevent water ingress, so I have been following advice all day.

This was the weather outside, just a few hours ago, still raining heavily, with no let up. I am currently blogging on the sofa, with a hot water bottle and fur cover. I'm not leaving the house today, well I did briefly this morning, but nearly got blown over the ravene, so staying safe and relatively warm inside. I'm certainly not used to this weather!
Be safe everyone!
