R.I.P. Precious; Goodbye Darrell!

Today I said goodbye to two members of my family; Darrell, who is leaving Spain for a while and my cat Precious. Darrell left Gran Alacant this morning, while I was at the vets with Precious, in Santa Pola. Precious, started to bleed from her nose, last night, by this morning she was in a terrible state; lifeless.

Instead of seeing Darrell off at the airport, my friend Paul rushed me to the vets in Gran Alacant. After examining her, they told me to get to their sister vets in Santa Pola as soon as possible.

The vet was fantastic, Precious had xrays done of her chest, which were inconclusive. An xray of her head, was also done. There was a  huge mass, on her right side, that was causing great distress for her.  After speaking to the vet, we decided it was best to put her down.

I stayed with her until the end, which will haunt me for the rest of my life. I cut some fur from her back, as a reminder of the best friend, I ever had. R.I.P. Baby girl, I am going to miss you, but at least you are at peace now.

It is unbelievable that this happened on the day Darrell left Spain.  Today I am heart broken, as I know Darrell is. At least now, Precious, will not spend the next few months pining for her Daddy.

It never gets easier, losing a pet; each time is harder and harder to deal with.  Today I am lost!
