This is the area, directly in front of our house, that myself and Darrell are lucky enough to have access to. I believe it is called El Campo, although if I am wrong, please correct me, as I know my readers will!

The terrain is rugged and mountainous in places, very different to similar open countryside in Britain. This is the part of Spain, I love. Having such beautiful scenery on ones doorstep is a bonus; we are lucky to have it. Apparently one can walk from our house in Gran Alacant, to Santa Pola, using the walkways in this fantastic nature reserve. I'm not sure I will be doing it anytime soon, but may take up the challenge when I have free time. For now I will just enjoy this fabulous vista from the comfort of my bedroom terrace!
