Somebody asked me the other day why I worked so much, why I sustain three jobs and still find the time to volunteer....Well the photographs above explain it all. Of course I work when I am Cancer Research, sitting behind a till serving customers, but I also relax, chill and enjoy the company of my colleagues in an atmosphere that allows me to wind down after busy week at work.

Volunteering is a worthwhile undertaking in whatever role you choose; it also brings you into contact with other characters who like you have a mission to help others in life. These remain the best people to work with, individuals who want to help, all striving for the same goals and happy to be grafting together as a team!

I enjoy my Monday afternoons because I feel rewarded and satisfied at the end of the day. I regard all those I work with as friends and I look forward to seeing them. My journey home, began at Cancer Research and no matter where it takes me, I will always have a few hours to spare, for this charity shop in the heart of Portsmouth each week....If you have the time, maybe you could too!
