It's Darrell's last day in Spain; yes my husband is leaving our home tomorrow morning to return to sort out a mountain of paperwork, so we can both remain together in Gran Alacant. Due to his Australian citizenship, he is required to obtain various documents, proving our relationship together. Darrell also isn't allowed to remain outside of the UK for long periods of time, or he will not be allowed to keep his current 'Indefinite Leave to Remain' status; the only thing, that allows us to stay together.

Darrell will be returning to our home in Spain, in a few months. In the interim, he will be staying with friends, until the legalities are sorted out. This was a hurdle, we had not foreseen, when we moved to the Costa Blanca.

We have overcome many obstacles in our 22 years together and this is just another one, we have to jump, before, we can finally be happy together, forging a new life, in the country we love; part of the course, as they say.

It does seem to me, that certain people are given rights, to my home country, before, myself, who was born in the UK and my husband.  That, I find disgusting. Darrell has never claimed a penny, from the British state, yet, him and myself are treated this way.  Says a lot about the state of Britain.

We have both had a lovely day.  The house is stocked up with provisions, while he is away, all the Spanish bills have been paid in advance and we are back to a rationing state, until he returns and the new bar opens.

It was lovely to see a dear friend, Chloe today, after she returned home to Gran Alacant, from University in Wales.  It's people like Chloe, the 'No Wives Club' and all our friends in the UK and Spain, that keep us going. Without them, life would be far worse. Love you all!
